heres a new way to get rid of mites..and is very safe ..i learned this from a few big time herpers .. i use a product called "nix" !! its a shampoo for human beings used for killing lice and their eggs.. i have used this and it is amazing ! and no harm to the snake at all .. nix can be picked up at your local pharmacy or even your local supermarket in the shampoo section. what i do is mix this 1 part "nix" to 20 parts water and put it in a spray bottle and spray the whole animal down and allow it to dry on the snake. you can even spray the head and eyes with no ill effect . only thing i do is take out the water dish for about 3 days so that the animal cannot soak itself in it and then drink that water .. i even spray down the enclosure with the stuff. i repeat the treatment in 2 weeks just to be on the safe side.. i have got rid of mites on a collection of 22 snakes i aquired from a person that shouldnt even be allowed to keep a goldfish as a pet. hope all works well for you .. peace , koky
