I'm interested in purchasing a mid-sized monitor. I'm thinking something similiar to a Savannah. Basically I really enjoy the Savannahs "natural color pattern" and size, but I have not been able to find a healthy one...etc.

Basically can you point me in the right direction on some species that are available, that have a similiar color pattern and tempermant.

thanks alot

I'm look to purchase a monitor that attains a mid-size length. I would rather purchase as a baby. Something similiar to a savannahs "natural coloration".

Actually I have just visited Pro exotics website and saw the blackthroat. Do any of you own this paticular species and do you have pictures of them as adults?

Thank you for replying though.

thanks

they get 6-7 feet long

symatic Jan 30, 2005 06:59 PM

That is a large animal. I didn't realize they got so large. Do you have any suggestions on monitors around 3-4 feet. I would like to research the animal before I make a choice.

thanks

Are you are interested in a 32 to 33 inch probable male Argus? If so I know where you may be able to get a healthy one. Click on my name and send me an e-mail if you are.

timor, ackie, flavi x argus, argus, maybe a pure flavi, flavi x gloudi ( theyre a cross between the smallest "argus type" monitors and the biggest, they range from3ft-5.5ft) mangrove, blue tail, peach throat, black and yellow tree monitor (v. melianus), dumerills, black rough neck............ even tegus black and white, red, blue, golden.... as you can see you have a big chose so just do your research and find which one you want. ( argus is my presonal favorite)
hope this helps
