Lizard for beginners?

tourettes Jan 30, 2005 03:22 PM

I was just curious which lizard would be best for someone who is just starting out. I have looked at several, including fire skinks, monitors, and other ones which i don't remember. If someone could help me out that would be great.

Leopard Gecko

They are relatively cheap and easy to care for and can be handled.

Watch out though...they can be addictive! I went from 2 to 7 in 5 months :-D

Do leopard geckos respond well to handling at all? I would really like to have a lizard that I could handle, because that seems like at least half the fun of having one.

Thanks,
JM

Most I have dealt with are very easily handled, they tend to be a little jumpy as babies but get used to their person very quickly.
