New July photos of Azul.

jiffypop Jul 06, 2003 07:36 AM

These were taken in the last week. I guess I don't notice it so much in person since I see Azul daily but in the photos it's obvious he's maturing. He's showing more of the elongated, pear-shaped head found in the lewisi. He's going into shed in these photos, part of his face has shed since they were taken. He's still sweet but sometimes can be pig-headed and stubborn.

Jane,

He's looking better every year and his neck spines have really regenerated big time!!!
For a minute I thought that was a picture of my Ehrig Hybrid.
Is he showing any having any luck breeding yet?
Great pics as always.

wow he is amazing! is he an ehrig animal? i'm no expert but he looks so much like a lewisi its incredible.

No, he's not of Ehrig breeding. I don't believe the gentleman (and I use that term loosely) that bred Azul is still breeding any Cyclura. I do know the location of his father, who is a HUGE animal. The mother was a former zoo animal and is believed to be in the Life Fellowship now. Even tho I was not impressed with the personality of the breeder I am eternally grateful to him for producing both Azul and Bubbles, my female Rhino iguana. Both animals are a joy to keep.
