IGGY BATH

atcelltech Jan 30, 2005 05:08 PM

I gave my ig a bath for the first time tonight since I have had him. He seems to like it, but maybe a little unsure. He is soaking in there right now. From what I have read, as soona as he goes in the bath, he would poop....TRUE...with in 3 minutes. Also, it seems to help alot of his shedding to come off.

JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE

I have another pic in my gallery with the flash off, but but can not decide which one I like better!!

But she has never relieved herself in it.. That is usually the first thing she does in the morning, and I do not get a chance to bathe her til the evening. Here is her soaking during her last shed. LOL she barely fits in the tub anymore.

hey you put like warm water not too hott and not 2 cold.. but more warm then cold. and they usually poop... mine is like a tiny thing and he loves the bath...you are supposed to bath them like a few times a week....this is a pic of my iggy in the bath tub onttop of my sisters toy..

This is kind of....KIND OF.....funny. Like I said originally, I had heard that putting the iggy in the bath would make him go potty. And on the first night (4 nights ago) I put him in, it took him about 3 minutes. Then the next day he did not go potty in his cage....hmmmm wierd. So last night I put him in and it took about 15 seconds for him to go. He must be learning because tonight I was holding him in my hand/on my knee as I was filling the tub with water for him and he went all over me, instead of waiting to get in the tub. He must be learning to go in the tub. BUT for now on, I will fill the tub and then take him to it. It is really nice taking a couple of minutes to put him in the tub instead of taking a whole lot of time cleaning his cage 2-3 times a week. I think that he will go into the tub everyday now so that he can do his deed in there.

That is actually how we got my iguana toilet trained. As soon as we noticed he was about to go in the tub, we kept putting him on the a potty training seat on the toilet. He started eventually just going there on his own. But now he's way to big for it, so he had to be re-trained to use a rubbermaid bin. Kinda like a kitty litter box, just filled with newspaper instead of kitty litter....

I have two iguanas that love to take baths. Their names are Phil and Lil(short for lillian). They always go to the bathroom in the tub and if I dont give them a bath daily they will sometimes go in their water dish!
