This is a female born 11/03. For the last several months she (and her brother) have been changing from a darker brown to this dark red color. At 9 months old I didn't much like their color at all....in fact, I was ready to try and sell them. Now I see them as more red than brown and I'm liking them more with each shed. Do you think she will be more red or brown?

Linda,
....I think that is a beautiful snake. I think that mostly it will be a dark reddish brown color. It will probably look very reddish one month and very brownish red the next. One of the best parts of raising these snakes is seeing how they change.

It seems in my very limited experience that red is subject to more factors than orange. Orange is pretty much orange. Red is more in the way one perceives. They are all so different. I remember a few years ago when I was just looking at BRB photos how they were just nice or average. I couldn't really tell much difference without staring and counting and looking again. Now I can see detailed variation at first glance and I see with a much broader scope yet am able to focus on specific aspects that appeal to me. I'm sure enjoying watching mine mature.
