so i go downtown today to this pet store that i love. they have a 200 lb tortoise who is an attention hog and i love him and i was hoping that they might have some collared lizards. i get there and low and behold they have two! but they were really really really skinny, which is unlike their animals. so i ask about them because i am desparate for a female and the guy says he sold them to a guy but he brought them back because he brumated them wrong and they became too skinny. and they were not for sale because they were being nursed back to proper weight! so they are being good guys and taking care of them but that was such toture.

This is a classic !

I just called all the pet stores in Quebec city and the only two found were bad fed collareds too.

They told me to wait for offsprings in late april - may.

By the way, how do you know when to get your lizard out of brumation ? Bones ? Time ? Belly ? Tail ? Colors ?

that time is up to you ! Just make sure they are getting water, and NOT losing any weight.

IF they are getting thin, or some how do not look good, then stop brumation.
