coccidia and useful disinfectants

chaoscat Jan 30, 2005 07:30 PM

When most sites say "ammonia 10%" do they mean store-bought ammonia?

I'm curious, because here's a run down of the ammonia-based ingredients in 3 different cleaners I use around my house.

Windex-Ammonia D
Lysol-Ammonium chloride
Store bought ammonia: Ammonium hydroxide

I know Windex can be toxic to snakes, as can Lysol. So would Ammonium hydroxide do the trick?

The post thread below on disinfectants lists a few that will be adequate with coccidia. If you still prefer to use ammonia (I hate it!) then make sure you rinse any product very thoroughly.
