Leopard Basics.....I need to know....

pogo_the_dragon Jan 30, 2005 07:31 PM

My friend in desperation bought a leopard gecko and doesn't know the first thing about one. He was only told basic stuff from the petstore. Can anyone tell me the essential things to know including diet, and enclosure setup? I'd appreciate it as I'm too busy with all my bearded dragon stuff and kids to do anymore reading on dependants! Thanks guys!!

Real quick becuase I need to go...

Food: About 3-4 crickes a day, as they get older, they eat less. Also they eat meal worms.

Tank: Needs a hide out, a cave. Should be a 10 gallon for one leopard gecko.

Heat: Light bulb or under tank heater. 60 watt red or blue like is perfect to leave on at all times. Keep heat at about 78 at night and 88 at day, try to keep one side of the tank a little cooler so they can move out of heat.

Water: Needs water everyday.

Substrat: Paper towels is best.

Ask any questiosn you want, I and many others are here to help.
