Now the Trachyrahnchus are down to $3,500.00 (From $10,000.000, then $5,000.00 US ea.) If you wait another year they might come down to a realistic price. Check out the ad. This "expert" can't spell New Caledonia.

Given the fact that they're a live bearing species (not to mention the rarer subspecies) that only produce a baby or two per year, I think $3,500 is very realistic. Something tells me that if he can produce all those different gecko species, I'm sure it was probably just a typo...just like I'm sure it was a typo when you spelled trachyrhynchus incorrectly.

No offense, but this kind of post doesn't do anyone any good. There are other websites for this kind of stuff.

Yes. Indeed my spelling is a typo. I began learning english but two years ago. It is very difficult even to form sentences. Petaculars ad showed the bad spelling 4 times as well as the web page. I have Trachyrhanchus t. and contacted Mr' Spekner about the mis information he was publishing. He reacted very defensively. I disagree with you. This forum is for anyone that cares to post, not just those with commercial incentive that seem to post many with frequency. I'm finished here, thank you for letting me express myself on your forum Mr. Camponetto

he was just expressing his point, and someone can be an expert on an animal without knowing how to spell the country that they originate from. if he has great success breeding them he is an expert in my book.

This guy's shop is just 5 minutes from my house and I deal with him all the time. He's a great guy, runs a great shop and has some amazing geckos in there. He knows what he is doing believe you me, his name is even mentioned in Repashy's book on Rhacs.

Please keep in mind people are free to ask whatever price they feel is appropriate...especially if the gecko (etc,) is extremely rare. I have known Rich for many years and find him to be one of the better breeders I know (definetly one of the more ethical!). I have been fortunate enough to have seen his Trachy babies and brood stock....all exceptional ...and I know he spared no expense acquiring his colony.
It is unfortunate that they mis-spelled his name in the Rhac book...I have been prodding him for years to put a book together on Trachy's. Hopefully he will someday.

1. Your comment about my "commercial incentive" only serves to further demonstrate your sheer ignorance of the subject(s) you've chosen to address.

You've failed to realize that I have posted here with "many frequency" for a long time...a solid year before I even produced a single gecko. That should tell you that it's my true passion for these geckos that keeps me here...not the fortune (laugh) that I'm making or the bubbly personalities (laugh again) of the people that sometimes show up here.

2. I find it highly ironic (and amusing) that you've misspelled the name of the species at hand (twice now) in posts where you're questioning someone's knowledge and credibility on account of their spelling errors.

Since English isn't your first language, maybe you've not heard the saying "That's like the pot calling the kettle black."

3. You are correct in saying that you do have a right to express your opinions, however negative and childish they may be. However, (irony strikes again) I too have the right to express my opinion...and in this case my opinion happens to be that your posts are childish, void of any useful content and in all around poor taste...and I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Hopefully none of that was lost in translation. Have a good day.
