Terry,
thanks! but it's funny to me how many people ask me every year, for BLACK and WHITE Northern Pines, oh, and they've GOT to be New Jersey Pines...do these people REALLY know what the pines from that area look like? Myself, I've never been out there, and I've only seen a couple pictures, so I don't totally have a clue, except the breeders I've seen at John Meltzer's place. And the fact is, New Jersey stock can indeed show variable amounts of red, just as the same stock, some animals are showing less of that red, but both animals are still high contrast! When John came to visit this last summer, and helped me sex these baby pines, it was this female that stopped him up short, and told me she was the one that in his mind was going to be the nicest black and white pine. So, knowing he's been at this for twenty plus years, I kept her back and let some other brighter looking stock go. The brighter looking animals had a slight off white color to their background. This girl, not bright at the beginning, didn't have that slight yellow white to her background, as my male does. Still both are beautiful animals! But she doesn't have the pretty red spots the male does which I think is beautiful in a black and white pine. Anyhow, there'll be more pics in the future as I practice with my digital camera. But doggone, snakes don't hold still very long! LOL!
