getting a gila or beaded lizard??

lizardman77 Jan 31, 2005 08:13 AM

hey,
i have had reptiles for many years now and have always loved the look of gilas and beadeds. i think i may finally make the plunge and get a couple in the next several months. i know you guys are all bias since you have and breed them, but are these lizards good pets. i know i will have to handle them with gloves, but do they interact with their owners like other lizards or do you guys just leave them alone for the most part? once you have a couple that are of breeding size and age, where would i be able to take them to determine their sexes? can they be housed together or do i need seperate cages for each one. i will be housing them in 3X3X3 foot cages and use the dirt like i have seen on pro exotics for their substrate. thank you very much
