sick leopard gecko, please help

doomy Jan 31, 2005 08:30 AM

hey, i'm new, so sorry for jumping ahead with no intoduction but i'm desperate. i already have two healthy leopard geckos, but recently took in another from the shop i work at, because it is so think and i wanted to give it special attention. i have kept the geckos separate and they are in different rooms. I'm not sure what's wrong with it though - it is stick thin: it's tail is just bone with skin on, really i gave her a couple of waxworms at work, hoping to get something inside her - she ate them, but when i'd taken her home i discovered them regurgitated. i put it down to the car journy, and fed her just one more last night and this morning found... something. i don't know if it is vomit or just a parcially digested dropping... it really could be either. it seemed the have the chalky white bit though. so, i thought maybe she has internal parasites, what do you think? the only trouble is, i don't know of any vets near me that will be able to test to see if she has.

i'd be really grateful for any help or suggestions

doesnt sound good. any vet can do a fecal, they should all know what a paracite looks like. Read up on kidney disease, dont feed waxworms to really super thin geckoes, hydrate, hydrate, hydsrate, and get a fecal. Good luck!

thanks - i took her to the vets, and he gave her a general anti parasite medicine. thanks for telling me that about waxworms, i've now sorted some esepially well fed crickets for her.
