Humid Hide Help

Triad Jan 31, 2005 08:37 AM

So I decided this weekend to build a new humid hide for Kalypso.

My mom had extra ziplock containers (luckily they were the "Snap and seal" ones). So I took polished rocks I had (the ones you get if you get a little fountain for meditation and decoration) and hot glue gunned those on. Later I put it in after I got all the excess glue strands off.

The rocks have now started to fall off. I was wondering how I can make them stay on.

She likes the hide a lot but I worry that when I'm not in the room they're going to fall off and hurt her. I threw her old one away so I need a solution fast.

I'm modeling mine after geckobill2112.

His lookes like this:

-----
2 Mali Uromastyx-Ares & Apollo
2 Bearded Dragons- Draco & Hades
1 Saharan Uromastyx-Iris
1 Leopard Gecko-Kalypso
1 Tokay Gecko-Sid Vicious
1 Tarantula-Peter Parker
1 Amazon Red Head Parrot-Pancho
1 African Gray Parrot-Keya
1 Dog-Cheeka
3 Fish-no names
1 Beta Fish-also no name
1 Zebra Finch-Beeps

i would try to find a glue that is used for glass surfaces. You have two non-pourous surfaces there and hot glue isnt going to want to stick to either. Also if you could find a glue that said it was for non-pourous surfaces than you could probably use that. the only other thing i can possibly think of is trying morter that they use for glass blocks but i have no idea how that would stick to plastic or the rocks.

hope that helps

I used aquarium silicone to do mine, worked great.
