13 month fast! FINALLY fed!

JM Jan 31, 2005 09:21 AM

Wow~ I just can't beleive it! As some of you know I got a bunch of WC girls back in October of 03' (not a typo~ I said 03'). I got most most of them feeding in May 04' when I tried some tips I got from Ralph:
http://www.thereddragonsden.com/wcballs.htm
But there was one old hold out~ #37. She just was not going to eat!
Well last night I put a rat crawler in with her~ and figured I would be pulling it back out this morning as always~

But it's gone! I really looked for it~ and it's gone! (I'm gonna go look again in a minuite because I just can't believe it!!)

I got this girl on Oct 10, 2003~ there is no telling how long she was in transit before I got her~ but I've had her for 13 months now without her feeding! Honestly~ I had given up on this girl~ but FINALLY~ the rat is gone!

That's great! Now that her taste buds are workin' maybe she'll be good and hog out for a while

Considering how happy I was when one of my WC girls ate after a little over 7 weeks (and she was losing weight) I can just imagine how elated youa re about that final holdout breaking a 13 MONTH fast. Wow, makes me think there is hope for my other 2 holdouts!

October 2003 to January 2005 is NOT 13 months by any measure.

It looks like 16 months to me. That is unless I missed it and the animal had eaten in December in your care.

Congrats!!

Oct 2003 to Oct 2004 is 12 months.
Nov 2004 is 13 months
Dec 2004 is 14 months
Jan 2005 is 15 months
(more like 15 1/2 months)

You were closer than I was!
Either way~ math impaired or not~ I'm glad she ate!

that is fantastic. i bought 12 wc back in may 04. still have 2 that wont eat. i was reading the tips from the forum post. i will give it a try this weekend. wood mulch and potting soil. actually it is 3 but 1 ate a gerbil last week. i hope she did not like it too much. i only have 3 more and was going to use them for scenting. they were right when they said you have to have patience with these wc girls. all were very fat and full when i got them but have lost some weight but not too much. i hope my luck gets here a little quicker than yours though. tim
