Incubation Humidity?

-JayDog- Jan 31, 2005 01:28 PM

I've got a hova-bator and was wondering what type of humidity level everybody try to acheive? Does anybody add water to the pan at the bottom? Do you just count on the humidity from the moist incuabtion medium?

Thanks,
Jason

Hey,
I add water to the pan just to add a little bit more humidity. I don't have holes in the lids of my egg containers so it might not make the any difference. But you should shoot for about 80% inside where the eggs are.

If the eggs get large and buldgy, this eather means the baby is about to hatch or that its taking in to much water. Thats a sign that tells you to put a paper towel on the egg to bring it down. Just watch the eggs, if they stay the same, then you are good.

Hope I helped
