My Guy Finally Ate!

Circusfan Feb 01, 2005 11:41 AM

Howdy. I picked up an adult male BP in December, only to find he had an upper RI. I got him to the vet and he was given the proper meds and is doing great now. However, since I got him, he wouldn't eat. So last night I had an idea. I put him in his hide, and put a FT small rat in with him. I then overed his hide with a dark towel, leaving a small space at the opening so he could see a little ligt if he wanted to get out of the hide. When I checked him this morning, the rat was gone! I looked all over his cage, but it is in fact gone! I think the added seclusion may have helped him. Any thoughts?

Just thought I would share.

Glad to here your little one is doing better and has eaten. I have a little guy whos eating habits are similar, he requires mood lighting and privacy to eat (preferably around 9 pm). His sister on the other hand, takes all of about 5 seconds to spot the prey, position herself, strike and eat, at any time of the day, with full lights and an audience. Quirky little buggers aren't they!

That's too funny! My litle girl is the same way! As soon as I get the feeder in the cage,,, BOOM, she's there! I figure that it's a trade off. One picky eater and one great eater!

LOL!
