Snapped some shots of my sulfur pair

mattbrock Feb 01, 2005 02:56 PM

Here are the '03's I posted about in another post. They came from Len Krysko's yellow sulfur phase animals. The female has lightened up considerably, and she almost appears creamy instead of yellow. The male has retained a lot of orange along his sides. Enjoy!!

No offense Matt, but those aren't what I would consider sulphur yellows. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice looking, especially that light female. As far as I am aware, Len was never able to get that male sulphur to reproduce before it passed.......but I could be wrong. Here are a couple of pics I found today.

This is the one pictured below, but is now an adult. This was taking right after I moved into my house last Oct. I forgot I had the pics on my computer. This is pretty close to what they look like in person, but believe it or not, the yellow is still a little washed out by the blue sky. Pretty close, but not as rich as in person. The pics were taken on a clear day as the sun was setting.....that's why your seeing that blue cast on the top of the head.

this one was taken the same time as the sun was setting lower. It's a little less washed out and more true to color. These are the best of sulphurs in my opinion. The male has a little more of a broken pattern, but actually has better color than the female. I plan on getting new pics when the snakes come out of the cooler, and the weather warms up a bit. Let me know what you think.

Brandon,
Those are the best looking Sulphurs I have ever seen. How many clutches do you expect to produce from your Sulphurs this year?
Also do you have a pic of one as a hatchling. I wanna see how to distinguish these from others and normals out there. Thanks and
Great animals Brandon.

Thanks John. I hope to get at least one clutch from these, but will try for two. They were just 2 years old last season and were big enough, I just don't think they were mature enough. We'll see this year. I have pics of them as hatchlings somewhere, I'll just have to look for them. I'll try to get them up asap. Thanks again for the compliments.

When mine were hatchlings they looked much lighter than normal brooksi. They were pale yellow and brownish tan.

That is a spectacular snake. It is much brighter than my pair. I was under the impression that the ones he sent me were sulfurs, but they may just be yellow phase. Istill love them, but man I tell ya...I would love to have a pair from that one you posted. That thing is VERY nice. Any breeding plans?

He said he hadn't produced any that year. It could be that you just got the regular South Florida kings from him. If so, they should be het for hypo.

Beautiful Specimens! As some have said with my golden cornsnake (until I proved them wrong, LOL!): "Must have been photoshopped!" But you know I'm just kidding! That's a non "photo-shopped" beauty!

You're right Zee. I figured someone would question the photoshop thing, but I don't have photo editing software that's worth a crap......came with a 30 day trial when I got the computer a year ago. The only thing I can do is adjust brightness or lighting. I agree that some would question the color, but you should see them in person. They are cream of the crop!

thanks

Thanks again for the pics Brandon! This Is the first time I have to admit that I'm actually interested in a pair of Florida Kings (that look like THAT - Usually I only mess with easterns & goini's)! Do you have any indoor pics? Just wondering how those look! Thanks for posting - They are AWESOME!

Those blow me away, I think they're gonna produce some of yellowest yellows ever. Can't wait to see some babies Tom Stevens
