rat snakes in ny state what type plz help

i go snake hunting upstate ny evry summer bc im up there during the summer and i want to know what type of rat snakes are up there, and also some info on them like size ect..

Black rats are just about the only ratsnake you can find in NY.

Hey, I saw you had a similar post on the corn snake forum. Let me save you some posting.

Go to www.enature.com and search by whatever zip code you're in up there in NY during the summer. Then you can filter the search results to only include snakes. It'll show all the kinds you can find up there and info on them.

As far as this post goes, black rats will be it in NY. I live in PA and I've caught them upwards of 7 feet (measured with a string letting them run through my hand). So they're probably going to be close to that up there to for a good, healthy adult
