What are people talking about saying they have a 2' ball with a 3" girth...?

bloodboy128 Feb 01, 2005 04:26 PM

I here people say and post that they have like 3' balls or 2' balls with a 5" girth??? thats impossible right?? My bros ball is only 32" and has a girth of like 1 1/2". I just want to know why people say there girth is so big? Is my bros ball just very very skinny?

Girth is AROUND a snake (at it's thickest point usually), not it's width. I have '04 hatchlings that are under two feet with over 5" in girth. Think of girth as your snakes waistline. Grab a piece of string and measure, you'll see.

Girth is the measurement all the way around the snake 5" is not all that big for a 2-3' ball. I've also noticed that the females will get fatter than the boys too, so that may be why your brothers ball seems a bit skinny. Also I think you said he was only eating rat pinkies every other week as compared regular weekly feedings that most of the other snakes are getting.
