HOUSING QUESTIONS!

vulcan Feb 01, 2005 06:50 PM

I want to put my male and two female Prairie Kingsnakes together on a permanent basis but I want them to breed. What size cage do you think would be more appropriate: a 30 gallon, or a 24w X 24d X 12h? Thanks for the info.

Vulcan,
Kingsnakes are cannablistic by nature and cannot be housed together. For breeding, after burmation male and female kings are put together for copulation under supervision then seperated. Each one of your kings will need to be housed in a seperate terrerium/vivarium like a 20 gallon and if bred after burmation only for a short time under observation.
Answer to your question then is no it wouldn't work and you'd end up with just one extremely large king if housed together like that.
