What is the worlds Largest anaconda thats actually recorded and accurate not just people saying it and people agreeing with it. This may sound idiotic but i need this information for a speech in class, im comparing an anaconda to a retic.

Thanks

Sorry to sound negative (please take lightly since its 5 am) but you could mention it is the most pointless debate I can think of. Second I think is worlds most venomous snake. "whats more important...length or girth" maybe we should tell the retic and the anaconda its all about confidence : ) Anyway, I have heard the "longest anaconda was like 27 or 29 ft. The largest I have personally seen was a little over 22ft and over 350 lbs. I would deffinitely believe they can and have grown larger than this as well. Hope the speech goes well though and I hope people respond with more info for you.

Unfortunately, there is no individual specimen associated with a size record for E. murinus. The famous Lamon specimen that he reported being killed by himself in about 1940, on the Meta River in eastern Colombia, has been proven to be highly questionable and is considered by most to no longer represent the record length. It appears highly likely that the anaconda was around 25 feet and not the reported 37.5 feet. However, still one of the larger anacondas ever recorded. There have been a few fairly reliable reports from decades ago for greens in the 26 to 28 feet range, but no highly accurate measurements for a given individual specimen. That’s about where it stands currently concerning a size record.

Thank you Kelly. I wasn't sure what to go by and since the whole speech is comparing and contrasting the anaconda to the retic it was needed.
