Newbie with Rankins

mjaws Feb 01, 2005 08:43 PM

I am new to the hobby and have what are supposed to be 2 rankins. My daughters wanted bearded dragons but when we heard about Rankins we went for them instead because we were told they didn't get nearly as large and could be housed in a substantially smaller tank.

Anyways here are some pics of Bubba and Brandy. Do you think they look like Rankins? I am scared they won't stop growing!

I'm not an expert but from the images I've seen those match perfectly and definitly don't look like Vitticeps. Very different body type bigger rounder head, and the pattern is very obvious. The color is also the only color I've seen them. Speaking of which, is there ever going to be differnt color breeds of Rankins??

There is a breeder in California that has said he has red ones, but I keep asking for pictures of them and have not got any.

I suspect they are crosses, but could be wrong.

Hey Guys really beautiful Rankins. Yeah there is a guy in California named Josh who used to work for Sandfire dragon Ranch that has different colored Rankins. I have seen them in person and in pics. I can try to get some pics from the guy who sold some of his dragons for him. Oh yeah I had a several chances to get some but decided to stay with Pogona vitticeps

I've been breeding yellows with germans and the babies look like that some of the times, they{babies} take on the same color patterns of the parents, but as they mature the get their own color to them so-o-o- cute!!
