i got a new female about 3 weeks ago she is very healthy i thought she was just a big girl well she was pregnant. i was not set up for breeding, i do not have an incubator. i read somewhere that you can keep the eggs at room temp 72-80 degrees not sure if that is right everything else i have seen says 80 for females is there anything that i can do until i can get an incubator. this is such a shock but i am excited and want them to hatch i can see some veins in the egg and they are in good condition.right now they are in a ziplock container with some damp bedding (not to damp) any help will be appreciated.

around 80-82 for females, 88 for males. they are probably dead if you put them in a ziploc, as they will have run out of oxygen. but don't feel too bad, they were most likely infertile. she was most likely not exposed to a male, females will lay infertile eggs often.

i did not put them in a ziplock bag i put them in a container (like you would make a humidhide out of. when i held a flash light up to the eggs i could see a small cluster of veins. i was hoping to find out if there is anything temperary to keep them in until i get an incubator right now the temp inside the box is 80 degrees with damp bedding. thank you for posting

I successfully made an incubator out of a subersible aquarium heater, an old glass baking dish and a styrafoam cooler. Although I had a bad experience with the first set she laid (nothing to do with the incubator) I hav 8 healthy and happy babies. Worked out great, and only cost me about $25.
