I would think that shredded ASPEN would be great! That is what I use on all my snakes hogs,kings,corns,pythons and have had no problem.That is what I have heard to use for years,so that is what I usually recommend.Good luck with ya new lil addition.

Don't be so quick. Hogs should not be kept together as they are famous for being cannibalistic. In fact, they tend to have such a strong feeding behavior that they will often bite their own tails. Instances of cannibalism has been reported on this forum on several occasions, one in particular had them together for 2 years.
