Hi there:

Both snakes arrived safe and sound this morning. The first one I took out was the ringneck. It is indeed a southern ringneck, and looks about 7 inches long. It ate a guppy as I held it first thing, and even drank water out of my hand. It did not at all seem shy. It was really gentle, wrapped around my fingers for a long time (it was cold) and then went into it's new little home. I was amazed that it ate as soon as I offered it food.
The night snake is also really neat. He was thrashing all around and acting really jumpy when I took him out, but I examined him, and he is in excellent health. Looks kind of like a copperhead. I am not going to offer him food yet. I'm first going to let that one settle in. He has been watching me like a hawk all day. You can tell that he's venomous just by looking at him.
The night snake is really cute... in a toothish kind of way.
I am really happy about the ringneck. I hope that they are both around for a long time; I love small terrestrial snakes... and caecilians!
