fed in moderation waxworms are an important supplement to any lizards diet. lizards should eat many different kinds of insects, and waxworms are very nutritious and should be offered once or twice a month to any species to ensure a balanced diet.

any dangers you may have heard about waxworms are due to overfeeding which can cause obesity, or excluslive feeding which is not recommended for any type of food, or so-called 'waxworm addiction' where an animal will refuse other types of food waiting for waxworms to be offered. this is a natural biological response, as waxworms are highly nutritious and contain alot of fat, which the body is predisposed to store.

waxworms, properly dusted and vitamin supplemented, are very good for lizards, anyone who compares them to 'big macs' or 'fudge sundaes' is ignorant of the facts.

Waxworms make great treats for leos but they can be addicting so feed them sparingly. A small meal of waxies once a week is a good addition to a leo's diet.
