Nice catch, kinda looks like this guy.

It looks like it might have a whitish ventrum. Interesting coloration.

Wasn't this one from real close to the south Picnic Area? If so Chaney Creek is a better (closer) landmark to use than North of Caruthers. Either way that is the nicest wc pin-stripe I've ever seen personally.

I'm looking forward to breeding it to the one you produced! They will be hot.

Thanks Coach, all great looking snakes. I never saw this last one from Red Bluff. You must've caught four live ones then, correct? Glad to here the one I sold you is doing well.

Coach Feb 09, 2005 07:08 AM

This one from red bluff was from 2001. The road was closed to thru traffic that year at buffalo creek bridge. No trucks, no lake traffic, just snake hunters!

I got lots of great footage last year and actually the last 3 years but I want to have more alterna and all the various local stuff before I edit. We'll be down there for the new moon in June. We will also be in Cal. for a couple weeks late April/early May . I want to see zonata now that I've read Hubbs book.

stevenxowens792 Feb 10, 2005 12:07 AM

Coach, are you coming out this year to TX? I have the week of June 4th-12th off and various weeks/weekends before that. Lance and I were going to hit the river... Glad to hear that all the alterna are alive and well. If you guys fly in or come through dallas give a shout. Take Care,

Steven Owens

We'll be down for a couple of weeks for the new moon in june. I plan on hunting the east end since we only have a short trip.

stevenxowens792 Feb 10, 2005 09:55 PM

Hey Coach...
I will probably on be in the eastern parts in May. Otherwise I will be south or west. It really depends on the weather...
It will be shame to not see you down south this year.

Take Care,

Steven Owens

I was actually in your area in September. My first trip to New England. I was about 3 hours from your town. Setting up a Chilled DSD site for Tropicana in Rhode Island. The area is beautiful. I can understand why people really like it. The seafood is to die for. I stayed for a week. Got a chance to see the Water Fire in Providence and stuff like that.
I didn't do any collecting though. Visited my grand parents in CT while I was up. Man.. So many trees. It is so strange. You can't even see the stores from the express way.

Well Take Care,

Steven
