Large meal question

skyclad Feb 03, 2005 09:28 AM

Ok I just recently switched my JCP over to rats. He's about 9 months old and I have to say that a rat pup was a rather large meal for him. He was feeding on hoppersmall mice before I switched him. My question is do they display odd behavior after switching to rats? He seems to always be on the cooler side of the cage now curled up in the corner for the last 2 days. His belly is going down so I can tell that he is digesting. Or can this be normal behavior because I haven't been feeding him a large enough prey?

i sitched mine over to large rats and now im faced with a constipated snake. seems the size of the rats that i was feeding her were too big so im having to switch her back to mediums. sure im paying more for food but im saving on vet bills. if i were you id switch her back to hoppers until she gets a little more able to handle rat pups.

Thanks for the advice man. Ever since I fed her the rat pup last week she hasn't been climbing and she's been curled up in the corner. Should I try soaking her?
