i have just brought a garter snake and was wondering if anyone can help. i have had him now for a week a he has not eaten anythink they told me in the shop he show be eating about 2x a week as he only young (dont know how young though hes about 15 inchs if that helps) i have been feeding him lance fish (putting them in his water bowl) is there any think else i can feed him or should i put the food some were else?
also how big do they get in lenght and width?

You can attempt to add some fish-scented pinky mice to it's diet. Or maybe some frogs or toads. Eastern garter snakes as adults are often 2 to 3 feet in length, some can get up to an inch thick.
