crotalusatrox42o Feb 03, 2005 05:48 PM

hey i wanted to see what you guys think about using ultrasonic foggers in your snake encloures to raise humidity ? i finaly got my Rhino habitat under control and every thing is steady and he couldnt be happier..however i was thinking is it possible for water from the fog to accumulate in the snakes lungs from breathing it in and actualy cause problems..i mean this fog is preety much pure humidity and i have taken a deep breath of the fog in before and it made me cough. so that got me thinking. what do you guys think.? thanks

I havent ever used one but if you have the snakes temperature and humidity levels undercontrol now, there is no need for that. Despite what people say, Rhinos are very hardy once you get them established. Adult imports pose more problems then CH babies do.

So long as you aren't creating excess humidity, it shouldn't be a problem. I know some people are even using Nebulizers to treat very tiny neonates with antibiotics for respiratory and bacterial infections. It's basically the same principal, without the meds.
