How Many Holes for CB-70s?

toshamc Feb 03, 2005 06:03 PM

OK I'm in the process of building my rack. My new snakes are all in quarantine in CB-70s, I had been using peg board, weighted down for tops but have had two escapes (luckily I caught one in the act and the other one went about six inches and hid inside a guitar, he's been officially named Fender). So I'm now stuck with having to put the lids on the CB-70s to prevet escapes. Now they aren't very "air tight" but I don't want to have any accidents. I've drilled 1/4" holes about every 3 inches or so and some in the lid (6 down each of the long sides, 3 on each of the short sides and 20 in the lid) is this enough ventilation or should I drill more. I also expected to use these in the rack so I didn't want to over drill either. Any suggestions. Thanks!

The number of holes really depends on the animal in the tub, the heating used and the temps in the room the tubs are in....

Ball Pythons (varying sizes)
11" Flewatt that I just got from you
Room temps are generally in the 70s during the day and 60s at night.

Sweet..lol.. I would start off with a row around the top of the tub... About every inch or so, it woudl really be a trial and error so it is better to do less and ass them if needed.. Do a "dry run" and see how that works for you as far as temps and humidity and then you can add them if you need.. Hope this helps and hey thanks for the business,
