Crazy eater

snakesta44 Feb 03, 2005 07:32 PM

My brooksi is all about eating, which is good. She gets exersize. However, she gets so crazy that many times, she bites herself the second she smells mice. Not hard, and she has never broken skin, but I'm just a little worried that she might bite herself hard in the future. Is this going to be a problem, or am I just worrying over a stupid thing.

My king has done that a couple times before when she gets real excited, it always makes me laugh. First of all, they usually realize right away that it is not what they are looking for. Also, a snake's jaw pressure could not really do much damage to its tough scales.

Lemme think of some other crazy things my Eastern king will do ...
- After constricting (FT) if she's real hungry sometimes she'll just jump around with the rat in her mouth and flail her whole body around trying to look tough in front of me.
- Sometimes I will play tug-a-war, she never lets go!
- She's eaten an entire finger of a rubber glove before she'd let me pull it out (it was empty).
- After she eats a mouse she's so hungry for another that she will chase me or anything else that moves around my room trying to bite my feet or anything else...
- She ate canned Iams cat food out of my cat's dish once when she was prowling around.

Kings are fun! I'm going to give my new brooksi a couple days of rest before I try to feed him, I'm curious to see if he gets as excited. Peace - Matt
