It would be a waste in my opinion. Also if your feeding itin a dish it will be cover in poo in a matter of an hour is you have lots of chrix... Easier to just mix it up with some water...

my girlfriend stuck the remains of crested gecko diet that was mixed in the cricket container the other night when i was at work. there was probably 1/8" in the bottom of a dish that we use to mix it in. when we went in to look there wasn't a speck of cgd on the cage. if you buy it in 2/1/2lb containers it's not that much of a waste and is very easy to mix up. i would imagine it fills them up very quickly so you won't need to mix up more than 1 tbsp for 1000 crickets and space it out with a couple of petri lids or something.

if anything it will be a good source of moisture, much better than just putting a potato in there or some cricket cristals.
my crickets go crazy over it.

I was just wondering because I figured I just have 2 babies, who eat CGD and sinec they were growing slowly, crickets. But I don't want them to be spoiled, so if they decided to just wait for crickets, they are still getting the CGD.

I use fish food flakes because of the list of nutrients on the back of the container but i think ill try that cgd thing. i dont like putting in potato or tomatoe or the likes as it gets gooey and smells etc.

A contributor to another crested forum I belong to suggested dusting crix with CGD, and I found my newcomers were willing to eat straight CGD after about 2 weeks of that. I do gutload my crix with CGD since I've found hatchlings were much more interested in chasing crix than licking up CGD, and that way they still get some benefit of the CGD and I like to get them eating as soon as possible.
