rubbermaid cage?

cti746 Feb 03, 2005 09:27 PM

I got my bran-new patternless female adult leopard gecko today! She is beautiful and as sweet and calm as can be. I was wondering, I have a big Rubbermaid container, is there any way it could be made into an adequate habitat for the little girl? Like heating? Its much bigger than a ten gallon tank and she seems to like it. Right now I have a human heat pad inside. I have been checking on it periodically to see how hot its getting. This is only a temporary arrangement but I am going shopping for her tomorrow maybe there is a way I could set up the Rubbermaid. Also, what are the best bowls for leopard geckos? And are them like anoles where they need to see dripping water? And are mealworms okay for a main diet? Some sites say crickets and others say mealworms are fine. Thank you so much!

Congratulations!
Yes... you coul make her a nice house!
Melworms are great as a staple diet.... but you shoul offer some crickets or roaches (I feed mine Lobster Roaches) a few times a week.
And if shes an adult you could try Zoophobas Mario as a staple... they are much bigger than a mealie!!!
And for water you could have a little bowl filled with water...

How would you heat a rubbermaid cage?
