I am the one with the musk turtle from way down below. I changed her environment so that she had lots of soil to lay an egg, I had given up on her and was moving her inside because they are spraying for grasshoppers around here. I cleaned her two sided grain tub and was moving the dirt part of it when I found it... one egg. I hope and pray that I did not upset the egg, I put it back in some soil just as I found it but like I said I was moving the dirt when I found it so I can only hope that I done it right. I read on here that the blood spot should be on top ( I hope I remember right) so when I spotlighted the egg I didnt see one spot, the whole center of the egg is light pink, with one small "air pocket" on top? I can see blood veins running in there and it looks like a healthy egg, I compare to a chicken egg as that is what I have experience in. Did I do right? And since I only found one is this normal for a common stinkpot? I put it in about 7 inches of soil with the egg about in the middle maybe closer to the top, I put it in a plastic tup with air holes on top? Will this get too hot outside? Should I do something different? MY plans were to leave it in the original container but I fudged that up myself.I never seen her dig again after that first day so I thought she was still waiting for the right time. LIVE and LEARN I guess. Thanks for the help!!
