Questions about Heat Tape?

alphadragon Feb 04, 2005 03:54 PM

Can you use heat tape in a vertical position rather than laying down on a surface. I am asking b/c I want to build an incubator and lay the tape along the back wall of the refrigerator.

that's perfectly fine, just make sure you don't get it wet, I've heard that it's actualy more effective to put along the side rather than the bottom, especialy for burrowing animals that require deeper substrates, though I've never done this, but yes, it is ok to do.

Not to sound stupid, but what is heat tape? And where might you find it? I heard someone talking about using it for baby leopard geckos.
