HELP! New Albino RES not eating...Inactive...

dbtnostril Feb 04, 2005 08:23 PM

I just got an albino Red Eared Slider, and he will not eat. He is a hatchling and he just basks or floats in the tank all day. Many times I think he is dead, but he occasionally moves. I now have him issolated from my other hatchlings and have food in his tank, but still, only basking and hardly moving. Please Help I dont want to lose him!

If you are that worried take your new RES to the vet!

Also, you can entice it to eat by trying to feed it live prey: crickets, little red worms, or anything else that moves. Sometimes this entices the turtles to eat because they see something moving that they can capture and eat!

Thanks, My friend works for a vet. We gave my turtle a vitamin B shot and an additive to help with eating. I hope that helps it, the vet said the vitamin B should help but we will see.
