feeding rats

does anyone have any good advice how to get a dumerils (or any snake) off mice and on rats? my snake is normally a very good eater, but i've been having a hard time getting her to eat rats, thanks.

this has worked for me with neonates and young animals. I would put a large rat pink or pup(little smaller that what you would normally feed) in a container with mouse pinkes or fuzzies so the rat picks up some of the scent of the mice. Then I would put the rat pinkpup in the snakes container along with a couple of mouse pinks or a mouse fuzzy. Usually the snake will eat the mouse and rat. After doing this for 2-3 feedings try placing a rat pinkpup (approriate size for snake)in with the snake without any mice. The snake will usually begin eating rats voluntarily. This has worked for me many many times.
