Why won't my BDs eat silkies?

Fuj Feb 04, 2005 09:34 PM

I've got the setup from Mulberry Farms to try the silkworm thing and have a few hundred worms ready to feed. After primarily crickets on my 2 month olds, they ate a few of the silkies and that's it. No more. I then put in some crickets and they mowed as usual. What gives - I thought the silkies were the way to go??

Thanks!
Dan

Not sure if this applies to insects as well as veggies, but perhaps your beardie simply doesn't like the silk worms? My beardie seems to have a VERY strict diet, and will react to different veggies differently. Some veggies he'll go for immediately while other I have to kind of hold them infront of him, some of them he wont touch, others he'll only eat if they're mixed in with something else, so from what I've found is that not only do they have great personalities, they can also be picky eaters.

Never seen a dragon turn down roaches. They are a natural feeder in Austriala and are easy to deal with. Look under the help and support section for some good documention on keeping them.
