Question about crested noises

idiotshot Feb 04, 2005 09:36 PM

I have 3 cresties in the same enclosure. Just recently a couple of them have started making a growling or a clicking noise. It didn't happen until I added the third. The first two that were in there didn't make the noises when it was just them. I know one of the first two is a male and the other one appears to be one too. I'm not too sure of the sex of the third one yet, but I'm starting to think it's a female. Anyone else hear their geckos make those noises at each other or know what they might mean. I haven't noticed any signs of aggressive behavior or heard anything else, but I'm going to take one of them out just to be safe if it continues. just looking to see if anyone has had this happen.

Hi
i have asked that Q before (since my pair aren't old enough yet) and heard that they start to vocalise during mating season. I would however start to arrange alternative housing for one of the two males lest you end up with a crested frog.

p.s i can't wait to hear mine make noises

The noises are pretty funny in my opinion. Mine make a kind of chirping noise for the most part. There is a bark that one of them makes too. I'll be separating the males out once I get a new tank for him.
