Lost Rosie - my first leo- today - but at least she is no longer suffering.

shannons Jul 06, 2003 04:29 PM

I went to check on Rosie this AM and found she had died, a massive hemmorage "blooming" on her underside. I believe that she died of complications and organ damage caused by an egg she had retained (she recently expelled a huge, somewhat decomposed mass and has been losing weight continually since her first clutch was laid, but since the egg had not calcified in her abdomen, we never figured out that she had retained one). I won't be getting a post mortem done, since her problem became pretty clear when she expelled the "egg" - or whatever was left. I am blessed with three wonderfully healthy, thriving gecks, a great hobby, and a beautiful carrottail daughter of Rosie named Prima. A patternless or blizz will be in our future, but for now I am off to bury my little lady and make sure her rack is thoughly bleached out to keep my other ladies and gent safe and sound. Goodnight all. -Shannon
