Can SomeOne PLEASE Help Me!!!!!!!

AnnoyingGuy12 Feb 05, 2005 12:06 PM

My Whits tree frogs Faygo and Fanta have been eating quite alot lately and have been unable to get off the ground.... Teye try to climb but they cant lift themselves as if they are too fat or too weak... Wats wrong?? Can some1 plz tell me wats going on?? I know some frogs just are too lazy but my frogs used to climb all the time and now they just linger around the ground trying to find a way up to their fellow frog Max who seems fine. Their legs seem reddish, which worrys me and i have removed Max from them. Their legs seem fatter and so do their arms but not too fat. I got them and they were really skinny and Petco sold them to me as GTF casue they thought they were GTF's. Now they have fat on their arms and everything seems ok like the temps and humidty. They climb plants also. It hurts me to watch them climb and then slide down. They even seem to work together because faygo nudges fanta to climb up when he is under her. Plz help.

What kind of supplement have you been using on the food, how often and how old is it?

Um the calcium stuff i dust the crix once a week and thats about it and does it really get old??????????? Last couple of weeks i havent been using it cause thats when i noticed their weak hind legs. Right now Fanta is sleeping on a leaf on teh ground acting normal as if she is on the wall and Faygo is just sitting in water bowl.

With fast growing immature frogs, once a week supplementation is usually insufficient to prevent "MBD". Every other feeding is what is usually required.
Does the supplement contain D3? And in what ratio to vitamin A?

And yes, it does get old. If you are using a multivitamin-mineral mix the various mixed ingredients will speed breakdown of the vitamins in the mixture. I dispose of the old ingredients and buy a new one every six months.

My dad thinks that its stress and here are the reasons.
1. I took pics of em with lots of flashes.
2. I chaged their hole environment.
3. I added more plants and driftwood.
They still cant climb.. Im really worried, wat shud i do to calm them down. Faygo has been croaking all day with his failure to reach higher ground. Ive misted them and they fell asleep exhausted, still on the ground. I helped fanta on the wall and she had trouble staying up on the wall but stayed there for a while. Any help will b appreciated. THX!

MBD can result in WTF's because of bad or old supplements. Look at their legs, and how they move when they walk. If it seems like the bone articulations are off or erratic, then MBD may be your problem.

I just noticed that they have like bruises on their legs. Is that normal cause they were white before. Its kinda thin and u can kinda see thru. I went to petsmart and alot of the older frogs have see thru legs. Is it normal? O yea progress was made last night, Faygo is on the wall now and seems ok.

Good to hear that they're doing better, but am I the only one who is worried about the redness on the legs? I don't know much about WTFs, yet reddish legs, wouldn't that be a sign of "redleg"? If they had eaten though, I'm not sure if that's what it is, from what I know they become lethargic and redleg kills fairly quick.
Any thoughts?

Um i am worried too. The frogs are climbing every once in while with alot of effort and they seem fine execpt for the fact they stay on ground. I cleaned the tank like 4 times now. Hope they are okay.
