Help...burning of the skin.....?

savvgawd Feb 05, 2005 01:15 PM

Ok well I've been posting for sometime now about my troublesome yealring burm. He shed yesterday so I grabbed him out and for the first time I noticed almost scaring on his scales as if it was nearly dissolving. Only one thing came to my mind when I saw this. Could I had missed on occasion with his anitbiotics, therefor burning the outside of his skin? I clearly don't remember anytime getting any of the liquid on the outside unless it was during a struggle. If the names of the anitbiotics would help please post and I will be happy to give more info. I don't know what else could have caused this since nothing in the cage has an oppurtunity to burn him.

The injections were given mid body just below the spine underneath the scales if that helps.

was it baytril??
I have been told by a vet that baytril can cause the skin to kinda sluff..maybe like a burn...I would call your vet and ask him.
Also how much were you giving?? Where you giving the whole injection in the same spot or did you split it up between two places each time
