Slight problem.... Anyone else?....

funnyman527 Feb 05, 2005 01:22 PM

I've got two reptihammocks on each side of each of my 55 gallon tanks for my 2 BD's, and they love them to death, they sleep there, bask there, sumtimes even eat there, but about every week or so one of the reptihammocks in either of my cages will un-suction itself from the glass and fall off *not the whole thing, but just one of the sides* and usually my BD is on it at the time, and will jsut be clinging onto the remaining side with their life. Anyone else have this problem? or just me?

I dunno, I'd be interested in knowing how common this problem is, I've been reluctant to get one simply because I don't think I can trust the suction

I dont use one for any of my beardeds but i have one in my brown basilisks cage, i have the same problem. It always seems to fall on one side or the other. I find it helps to wash both the suction cups and the area of the glass your going to stick to with alcohol so that there is nothing that will keep it from getting a good suction.

I've had the same problem so wasted my money in buying the things. Regardless of what I clean the glass and the suction cups with, they turn loose sooner or later.

I solved that problem by supergluing the suction cup to the glass

i've had them in each of my two dragons tanks for 2-3 weeks and knock on wood they havent let go at all. they both love them so its not like they dont get used. did u try wetting the suction cup first. i just dipped my finger under the faucet and rubbed it all over the back of the cup.

funnyman527 Feb 06, 2005 01:46 PM

Yes i have. But i think my problem is just a combination of two FAT dragons and dirty glass in my tank.
