is it grabbing fresh killed from you? if so once it grabs tug the tail a few times so it wraoes really tight, if it drops it do it again, I have a coupld animals I have to play this games with 3 or 4 times then they will finally eat.

it doesnt grab it it just stricks at it and lets go ,never realy grabbing it. ive done this several times then hill just loose intrest.i finally got his mouth check out and there was nothing wrong with it. do you think maybe he is scared now cause of the skrach, and in time he wil start eating agin? its only been three weeks since he has eatin. but this is strang for him ,cause he was such a hardy eater. thanx

You say that he's been feeding on large mice twice a week. I assume you're talking about a Dumerils in the 30" range, that's quite a lot of intake for a Dumerils. By a "plateau" I mean that he has eaten more than his body requires at this time, now he is fasting to allow his fat reserves to come down a bit. Feeding any boa twice a week is too much, much less a Dumerils that has a somewhat different metabolism than South American boas. Ideally, a growing Dumerils should be fed once every 7 days for bulking them up and once they get into the 3-4 foot range every 10 days. Larger specimens(5-8 feet) once every 14 days, more or less depending on indididual needs.
As long as your Dumerils is getting fresh water and heat needs are met, I wouldn't sweat it. If I were you I wouldn't even attempt to feed him for two weeks... don't worry he will live. Or wait until he starts to have a strong feeding response, like when they go into "hunting mode"... cruzing around thier enclosure. I wouldn't worry about the eye as long as it is healing(put Vit E in it if you're concerned), and from now on feed prekilled.
Good Luck-
