at what length do burm's start filling out??

darcy Feb 05, 2005 09:41 PM

hello again.
I feed my 5 footer 2 large rats a week and I'm wondering what length will he start really filling out his body. At 5 ft he is rather lanky looking (by no means skinny). I've just started him on dawrf rabbits and he takes them like they were just rats. I can't wait till he starts really looking good.
thanks again.

In my experience, in the first year they usually shoot from 18 inches to 8 to 10 feet. Then, they slow down and starting putting on weight.

Kind of hard to say. I've seen some very fat 1 y/o burms. I have a 4 y/o that wasn't fed very well until she came to live with me. She went from around 8ft to just over 12ft and has now started to put on the weight. She eats about 5 lb. of food per week.

males will always stay much slimmer than females. My 13 foot female weighs about 100 pounds where as my 9 foot male only weighs about 35 pounds or so...they are both over two years old. Todd
