Colors of Tangerine Honduran Milksnake

nikongirl Feb 05, 2005 10:20 PM

I am a reptile hobbyist, not a breeder. Can someone please confirm the color of a Tangerine Honduran Milksnake (no special breeding attributes applied)? I have seen some that look as if they are three colored bands, black, deep red, and orange (the red and orange sometimes very close in color, but still distinctly different). I have seen others that look like they are just two colors, deep red or orange and black bands. Are these both considered Tangerines, or is the one that has both the red and orange something special I need to ask for when inquiring? One example of the three-color version that I know as a Tangerine is the image of the snake that is displayed to the left of the Milksnake forum heading for this forum, as accessed from kingsnake.com.

i think i know what you mean.. i'm not a Honduran color expert myself, but it sounds like you're refering to:

1. a tangerine honduran: my hypo female has 2 shades of orange that are very close but not quit the same.

2. a peach phase honduran: haven't owned so can't really tell u much about that.

3. a bi-colored honduran: my hypo male has only one shade of orange and "lavender" bands

Hope that helps...
