When I was just getting to know Lloyd I was immersed in the Asian ratsnake thing. He got me started with the Elaphe bimaculata and dione and other species. Quite a guy. Wish I could have known him better.

I purchased a Lloyd Lemke line Speckled king myself a couple of weeks ago. An 04 female. Looking at yours, I must say, WOW.
Steve
Great looking speckled king Dean. I'm curious, was Lloyd Lemke's line locality or were they bred for a certain look? Cool snake!
When I purchased my Llemke line 04 speckled king from "Isis Reptiles" I asked them if they had locality data on their speckled kings, and I was told they originate from Louisiana. Isis reptiles might have a better answer because from what I understand they obtained a good deal of lemke line animals. Here is a pic of my 04 lemke line Holbrooki, Louisiana locality.
Steve

But no more specific than that.
Maybe I'll try to contact Isis...
THANKS
Oh, Phil...I know it's like a disease. I'm finding myself too to be MUCH more interested in herps if I know a specific locality origin.
I know how you feel Dean. It makes everything that much more interesting.
Outstanding Steve. I started to venture a guess and say La. I'm far from an expert on speckled kings but I have seen some La locality that favored both your and Deans snake. Basically nice yellow coloration with no hint of intergradation but with a few remnant indistinct crossbars here and there. I would like to learn more.
They do look like delta animals! If memory serves western Missouri also has nice examples.
