Golden Gecko

dragonmaster74 Feb 06, 2005 11:48 AM

I plan on getting a golden gecko soon and was wondering if i could get away with putting 2 in a 25 gallon tank tall?

Also should I add anything to my list for the tank:
Exo Terra Jungle Earth
Water Dish
Fake Plants
Hides

And what kind of heat source is the best choice?

I keep one G. vittatus in a 30 gallon, which is 4 inches taller than the 25 gallon, and in my opinion it's barely adequate. I will be moving him to a larger enclosure next month, about 100 gallon size.

I would also add some branches to your list of supplies, something that allows them to rest horizontally if they want.

As for heat source, how about a 75 watt ordinary light bulb? Turn it off at night. If it gets too cold at night with no bulb, use a ceramic heat emitter instead, put it on a dimmer and turn it up during the day, down at night.
